Town Planning
With extensive experience in this field, Vaalplan can attend to all the town planning requirements associated with the development of a new filling station.
Should the desired land not have the required zoning rights, Vaalplan can assist with the rezoning application, or alternatively, help identify a nearby site that may be better suited for a filling station.
Environmental Application
Notwithstanding the provisions of any other Act, no person may commence an activity listed in terms of s24(2)(a) or (b) unless the competent authority has granted an environmental authorization for the activity, and no person may continue an existing activity listed in terms of s24(2)(d) if an application for an environmental authorization is refused’.
Activity 14 of GNR 983 States” The construction of facilities or infrastructure for the storage, or for the storage and handling, of a dangerous good, where such storage occurs in containers with a combined capacity of 80 but not exceeding 500 cubic metres”
Activity 10 of GNR 985: The construction of facilities or infrastructure for the storage, or storage and handling of a dangerous good, where such storage occurs in containers with a combined capacity of 30 but not exceeding 80 cubic metres, in Limpopo in all areas.
Activity 51 of GNR 983. The expansion of facilities for the storage, or storage and handling, of a dangerous good, where the capacity of such storage facility will be expanded by 80 cubic metres or more.
Site, Retail and Wholesale Licenses
You must apply to the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy for a site and a retail licence if you want to store or sell petroleum products to members of the public.
Please note: A retailer is allowed to purchase petroleum products from a licensed manufacture or wholesaler only.
Once you have a licence, you must submit information on your business annually.The licence will be valid for as long as your business operates.
